Hydroxyapatite
Does hydroxyapatite help with sensitive teeth after dental cleaning or when exposed to cold or acids?
Yes, especially nano-hydroxyapatite. Only nanoscale particles can penetrate the dentinal tubules, refill them, and thus mitigate the transmission of stimuli in the dentinal tubules. This effect of hydroxyapatite has also been proven by studies ( Kawai 2020 ).*
Can hydroxyapatite build or repair tooth enamel?
Hydroxyapatite cannot rebuild worn-away enamel, nor can it repair larger defects in the enamel. However, Nano-Hap particles can specifically integrate into the finest irregularities and microcracks in the enamel, helping to smooth the surface. It also supports the natural remineralization of the enamel and makes the surface more resilient.*
📚 Several clinical studies confirm this remineralizing effect ( Najibfard 2011 ; Huang 2019 ).
Is hydroxyapatite a good alternative to fluoride toothpaste, gels, or mouthwashes for caries prevention?
Yes, hydroxyapatite is considered the most proven fluoride alternative . It remineralizes tooth enamel and not only hardens it like fluoride. Studies show a comparable effect in caries prevention ( Najibfard 2011 , Bossù 2019 ).
Are there any side effects of hydroxyapatite?
To date , no harmful side effects of hydroxyapatite have been reported. It is the same calcium phosphate compound that makes up approximately 95% of our teeth and bones . Therefore, the active ingredient is considered naturally biocompatible and particularly well-tolerated.
Hydroxyapatite has been successfully used in dentistry for over 40 years —originally developed for NASA to prevent bone and enamel loss in astronauts in space. Today, it is considered the most proven fluoride alternative in dental care.
Enamel care serums
Are the enamel care serums suitable for daily use?
Yes, the serums are designed for daily use and can be used several times a day.
How often can I use the enamel care serum?
We recommend 2-3 applications per day – as needed after brushing your teeth, eating or in between meals.
Do the enamel care serums contain fluoride?
No, our serums are fluoride-free and based on nano-hydroxyapatite (nano-HAp). This biomimetic active ingredient is structurally identical to natural tooth enamel. In vitro studies have shown that nano-HAp has comparable caries-preventive properties to fluoride.*
*The properties mentioned are based on findings from in vitro studies. They do not have any medicinal properties and do not guarantee a cure.
Who are the serums suitable for?
The serums are designed for adults. For children under 12 years of age, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women, we recommend consulting a doctor or dentist due to the plant extracts they contain.
Does the enamel care serum foam?
No, it does not form foam – this ensures a pleasantly gentle application.
Do I need to rinse my mouth with water after use?
No, the serum is spit out after the recommended exposure time – rinsing is not necessary.
What is the difference between the Fresh Mint and Propolis & Rose serums?
Both serums contain nano-hydroxyapatite to support the natural remineralization of tooth enamel.
- Fresh Mint : with peppermint, eucalyptus and lemon – for a particularly fresh, invigorating mouthfeel.
- Propolis & Rose : with propolis, rose water and lemon balm – for a gentle, caring effect on sensitive gums.
Enamel & Gums
Why do I have sensitive teeth?
Sensitive teeth often develop when the protective enamel becomes thinner or the underlying dentin becomes exposed. Triggers can include frequent contact with acids from food, teeth grinding, over-brushing, receding gums, or gums that have been pushed back, for example, by a professional dental cleaning.
👉 Nano-hydroxyapatite particles can be deposited in the dentinal tubules, refill them and thus mitigate the transmission of stimuli in the dentinal tubules.
Why are my gums sensitive?
Sensitive gums are often caused by external irritations, a weakened oral mucosa, hormonal changes, insufficient mineral supply or an unbalanced oral flora.
👉 Gentle plant extracts such as propolis, aloe vera, clove, cinnamon, sage, fennel and chamomile can gently care for the gums.
In addition, hyaluronic acid can improve moisture supply and silicon can strengthen the gums.
What to do if the tooth enamel becomes transparent or has been brushed away?
If the tooth enamel appears thin or transparent, this is usually due to too frequent contact with acids, insufficient mineral supply, excessive brushing or abrasion from teeth grinding.
Unfortunately, once tooth enamel has been brushed away, it cannot be rebuilt, but hydroxyapatite can help strengthen and remineralize the surface.
🦷 Tip: To reduce the risk of further abrasion, we recommend remineralizing the enamel before brushing.
